In one of my meetings with the Secretary General of Hezbollah, the oppressed master of resistance, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah (in the presence of colleagues Zein Hamoud and Ahmed Al-Moussawi), the hero said to me:
Professor Hassan, I want to draw your attention, as you attack and criticize the Leader, Ali Khamenei, to the fact that in Iran he was the first to adopt the Palestinian cause, and after him, there are those who are one hundred after him in their commitment to the Palestinian cause. Sayyed Hassan was smiling as he described Sayyed Khamenei to us.
An Iranian friend close to the reformists in Iran told me that after the death of Imam Khomeini in June 1989, the Expediency Discernment Council met to choose a successor to the late Imam, and that the mastermind of the Islamic Republic after the late Imam, Sheikh Ali Akbar Rafsanjani, stood in the meeting crying and said: Imam Khomeini recommended that his successor be his student, Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
It was Sheikh Rafsanjani who suggested Mr. Khamenei as a member of the Revolutionary Command Council, after Imam Khomeini returned from Paris to Tehran on February 1, 1979.
We can perhaps be certain that the Zionist enemy and the United States realize the importance of the Iranian Supreme Leader’s position and status in leadership, decision-making, and Shiite fanaticism in Iranian society, which is waging a battle for the fate of the republic founded by Imam Khomeini in 1979.
Therefore, we must understand the nature of the direct Zionist and American threat to assassinate Imam Khamenei to end the war… Rather, as Donald Trump said: forcing Iran to sign a contract of submission to hand over its nuclear file to the Americans to protect the Zionist entity.
We do not agree with this Zionist and American speculation, but we understand the importance of the leader
